It was an amazing and very touching experience, being able to help the unfortunate. so often we look above and feel the lust for more. while there are others who barewly have normal necessities.

In my opinion, volunteering at Elijah's Hope was such an uplifting and enjoyable experience for two reasons. The first is that I got a chance to cook and serve meals with my friends, making the day memorable and fun. The second is actually serving meals. I remember the first time I went with my school to Elijahs's Hope I was actually nervous of serving the people. I was scared of the interaction between me and the person i was to serve. I thought that everyone would be in a bad mood and a little bitter and impatient. But what happened really blew my mind. Every person i served would return my smile and was very friendly. I couldnt believe how they could remain so cheerful and happy. It made me realize that Elijah's Hope, along with other soup kitchens, really are a bit of hope given to those who are going through hard times in their lives. I remember being a little disappointed at how fast that night went by and when leaving i kept on thinking 'I have to go again.'

Volunteering at the soup kitchen is a completely different definition of 'volunteering'. It is a spiritually reviving experience that opens the heart to feel at ease after realizing how blessed one is. It is also a profoundly beautiful act of gaining hasanat.

It was amazing and we loved it and definitely want to do it again. Working together with our friends while helping people who have less then us was one of the most humbling experiences of our lives.
